Promotion of the “Funball” program at the Zagreb Volleyball Academies Championship organized by Zagreb Volleyball Association.

Last weekend, on June 8th and June 9th, 2019, Zagreb Volleyball Association organized the Zagreb Volleyball Academies Championship. Zagreb Volleyball Association holds their own volleyball academies on many places and within this Championship there were 12 male and 12 female academies competing. School teachers carry out their volleyball academy throughout the school year in their primary schools, thus enabling their students to engage in sporting activities close to their home, in a familiar environment, along with their school colleagues. The Zagreb Volleyball Academy Program has been operating for over 40 years and a large number of top volleyball players have just come from one of many Zagreb volleyball academies.

 

When designing our "Funball" project, the guiding thought was specifically the need to provide teachers and volleyball academy coaches with the expert knowledge that would be appropriate for their work with younger generations (6-9 years). After the finish of the “Funball” project, teachers and volleyball academy coaches together with their assigned mentor from Zagreb Volleyball Association will start using developed materials and handbooks in their volleyball academies as their regular program.
